Alumni Meet of Mechanical Engineering, RIT on Saturday, 4th May 2019 at the AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, station road, Pune.
We, at Mechanical Engineering Department, have successfully organised 'Alumni Meet of Mechanical Engineering, RIT' on Saturday, 4th May 2019 at the AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, station road, Pune. It was an exceptional response from alumni network and 198 alumni from various sectors have graced the alumni meet function. It is because of strong alumni support and team work of mechanical engineering dept., this alumni meet is grand success.

Visit was started with workshop laboratory; they have seen lathe machine, universal milling, shaping machine, and surface grinder, centre less grinder, turret lathe, automat etc. Alumni have appreciated the commercial products (Benches, Stools, Tables, Battery Stand, Models, Grills and other furniture) made by F Y B Tech Students. After this they visited vibration laboratory, where they seen advanced FFT analyser and other testing facility of vibration engineering, at the end they visited Welding shop, which is equipped with TIG, MIG, Submerged arc welding, and Plasma arc welding.
After laboratory visit all alumni of Mechanical and Automobile department and, senior faculties are seat together in Auto department. All alumni introduced themselves in brief and also added how RIT has engraved path of their success. Alumni are appreciated efforts taken by Dr. S M Sawant, Dr. S S Gawade and all alumni coordinator for making alumni get together function graceful. Dr. Sanjay Vashishta agreed to deliver expert lecture on the topic "Gap between academic and industrial practice".

Minutes of Meeting held at Mechanical engineering dept. of Alumni Get together of 1994 batch
The meeting was started with a short introduction alumni and faculties of the mechanical engineering department. Dr. Sachin K. Patil (HOD, Mech. Engg. Dept. and Dean Academics, RIT) given a short talk, on the progress of Mechanical Engg. Dept. with the last 5 years.
Dr. S. M. Sawant, given a short speech on his journey from 1994 to date. He said that the Whatsapp, Facebook, email, and cell phone number, etc., are used to find and invite for the alumni get together function.
Dr. A. P. Shah, (TPO, RIT) presented the scenario of placement of RIT students and possible vacancies to RIT. During his talk, he demanded to provide the internship and placement opportunity from the alumni network.
In connection to this Mr. C. V. Rao ( ) and (IBM) replied, that the 2 to 3-page broacher of RIT should be made and used to present the RIT in front of HR managers of the various industry along with alumni network.
The broacher should contain silent features of curriculum and industry requirements, consultancies, soft skills, achievement, etc.
Dr. S. S. Gawade and Dr. S. M. Sawant requested to share one-page biodata with alumni coordinator, so that the ample experience of alumni should be used to deliver the expert lecture, work as the examiner, organize industry visits, etc.
Mr. Vikram Gaikawad talked on Government schemes for the consultancies in the Public Works Department, Government of Maharashtra, India.
Mr. Shivaji Patil, (Chief Engineer, Sahyadri SSK Dhamod, Kolhapur), expressed on demand and supply of Engineers to the sugar industry.
Mr. Sandeep Galhotra (Director, Radiant Air Systems Pvt Ltd, A-1-28, Road No 15, IDA Nacharam, Hyderabad), agreed to provide internship training to students at Hyderabad campus.
Dr. S. S. Gawade thanked all the alumni for sparing their valuable time for the interaction with faculties and requested to spare some time with students so that the students will get inspiration from your carrier path.
